Vix Launches PBX in a Box

Melbourne, Australia, July 4, 2011. Melbourne based telephony and data provider Vixtel today announced the global rollout of its PBX-in-a-Box product, a unique IP based PBX phone system.

According to Marketing Manager, Nick Crews the system is the first of its kind that caters for the non-technical client saying, “Installation is literally as easy as taking the unit out the box and plugging it in to the office network and power point. In the past, businesses without internal technical resources have had to rely on phone installers and network specialists – we’ve eliminated this inconvenience and expense for our clients.”

Vixtel has already secured clients in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth and will connect its first International client in Seattle, USA this month. “The product has global appeal – it’s fully scalable making it suitable for any type of business, the hardware is very affordable, the technology is not daunting and the system slashes your phone bills,” says Mr. Crews.

The system adheres to industry standards for IP Telephony and uses the SIP protocol. The operating system is embedded Windows. Performance tests indicate that a minimum of 1000 concurrent users can be supported by a single PBX system. All the features of a full scale PABX are provided along with voicemail to email and multi level auto attendant. Call centre functionality also comes as a standard feature.

Vixtel has also developed an iPhone App that allows the users iPhone to be connected as an extension with a landline number. Calls from the mobile to the PBX are free. The app works on both WiFi and cellular data.
