Vix Launches The Cobra
Perth, Australia, July 15, 2011. The CR6000 EMV card reader is a new addition to Vix’s iVal™ product range - the next generation of innovative fare collection and payment management devices.
The iVal™ range provides a number of new features not previously available in AFC devices, whilst meeting Vix’s high standards for reliability, maintainability, robustness and ease of use.
All iVal™ products include TFT screens providing high resolution, easily viewable colour displays and use an open architecture based around the Linux OS in order to increase reliability and code reuse.
The CR6000 card reader is designed to provide a lowcost EMV solution that is small in dimensions, but robust enough for daily public use.
Like the other products in the iValTM range, the CR6000 reader’s desktop modules feature visual cues to users such as a bright light ring that changes colour depending on the status of the card transaction. The units are easy to use, with the whole screen area acting as a card target.
The CR6000 accepts a variety of cards, including ‘tap & go’TM contactless credit cards.
The desktop and OEM modules include a high-speed USB device port for easy integration to a PC or other USB host, with support for Linux and Windows 7 operating systems. Other communication options are also available, including Ethernet and RS422.
